I was a bit hesitant to try yet another plant-based protein as they are not nice and end up being tossed out. This one, however is the yummiest! Will be purchasing again.
I am hooked on this almond protein mix. Great taste and mixes easily.
The Chocolate Easter Egg protein powder is not as tasty as I wanted it to be. I bought it because I tried the Chocolate Easter Egg doughnut mix, and it was faaaaaaaaaaantastic, so I bought the protein powder version - it was a little bland? Not bad, at all, just not as wonderful as the equivalent doughnut mix. Conversely, the White Chocolate Malt Easter Egg protein powder is FANTASTIC. The equivalent doughnut mix? Awful. So, swings and roundabouts.
This stuff mixes surprisingly well for vegan protein powder, and it doesn't taste or feel like chalk, like most other vegan protein powders.
Downsides: The price is an absolute freaking joke. Like, it's not just "typical NZ overpricing", it's weirdly expensive for the quantity you get. Also, while there is quite an array of flavours, many of them are VERY semilar. Like, there's a "Chocolate caramel", but there's also a "chocolate caramel bar". There's a "peanut butter cup" AND a "chocolate peanut butter". There isn't a huge variance between the flavour options. They DO taste good, don't get me wrong! Just not the variety you'd expect from "variety".
Overall, I'll probably keep buying Macro Mike protein powder, even if it's hilariously overpriced, because it seems to be fairly well-balanced in ingredients, mixes well, and goes well in oats, shakes, baking and yoghurt.
Will not go back to anything else. Light on the tummy and good for recipes
